Cloud-Native Transformation for Top-Tier Investment Bank

The Challenge

The bank's 15-year-old monolithic trading platform was struggling to handle increasing transaction volumes, especially during market volatility. The system experienced frequent outages, with an average of 2-3 hours of downtime per month during peak trading periods. The legacy architecture couldn't scale horizontally, and the codebase had become so complex that even minor updates required extensive testing and risked system-wide failures.

The Solution

We architected a complete transformation to a cloud-native microservices platform. The solution involved breaking down the monolithic application into 40+ independent microservices, each handling specific business functions. We implemented Kubernetes for orchestration, Docker for containerization, and AWS EKS for cloud infrastructure. The new architecture includes auto-scaling capabilities, circuit breakers for fault tolerance, and a comprehensive monitoring system using Prometheus and Grafana.
